Counselling for low self esteem Richmond

Understanding Self Esteem

Self-esteem is a crucial aspect of mental health that influences how you perceive and value yourself. It encompasses your beliefs about your abilities, appearance, and overall worth. High self-esteem means having a positive view of yourself, while low self-esteem can lead to negative thoughts and feelings about your abilities and value. Recognizing the importance of self-esteem and understanding its impact on daily life is the first step toward fostering a healthier self-image and improving overall well-being.

Nelson Counselling About Image

My Approach

My approach is gentle and calm. I create a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space that allows you to bring and explore whatever you feel comfortable with. I tailor my approach to your specific needs and you will decide the pace that works best for you.

I believe that the counseling process is not about providing answers, but rather about collaboratively uncovering the answers that already exist within you. It's a journey of self-exploration, helping to unravel the intricacies of thoughts and emotions, and shining a light on the unseen aspects of your inner world.

I will support you in understanding what might lie underneath your difficulties and together we will identify strategies to help you  move forward.
Your challenges can become opportunities for growth, an opportunity to journey towards self-acceptance. My intention is to create a space for you where  you can find this acceptance and cultivate a relationship with yourself where all parts of you are welcomed, understood and allowed to be there.

If you resonate with my approach and find yourself  grappling with a challenging situation, persistent unhelpful behavior patterns, trauma, depression, ongoing anxiety, or a feeling of inner imbalance, engaging in  counseling could be a valuable step toward improving your well-being.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I welcome a 15 minute free phone conversation, which allows us to connect and for you to determine whether you feel comfortable to engage with me.
