How we relate to each other is based on our early styles of
attachment, the way our caregivers responded to our needs, and the emotional
environment we grew up in. These early experiences shape our expectations in
relationships throughout our lives.
Relationship issues often arise from a mix of poor communication, emotional distance,
and a lack of trust. We might be facing recurring conflicts because we struggle to openly
discuss our feelings, needs, or concerns. Emotional and physical distance can leave us
feeling disconnected or unappreciated, leading to loneliness, frustration, or resentment.
Our own personal insecurities, unresolved trauma, or mental health issues may fuel
these conflicts and keep us stuck in a loop of emotional reactivity, hindering our ability to
understand and support one another.
In counselling we will shine a light on what is showing up in your inner world regarding
relationships, and the beliefs that you hold about yourself and others. We will focus on
getting to know you, your past hurts, and disappointments, your fears and worries that
might hold you back from bringing your real, authentic self into the relationship.
I will support you in understanding what might lie underneath your difficulties and
together we will identify strategies to help you move forward. Your challenges can
become opportunities for growth, an opportunity to journey into self-acceptance.
